Bulls say no final decision yet on Del Negro
The Chicago Bulls are refuting rumors that the team has decided to fire head coach Vinny Del Negro, according to the Chicago-Sun Times.
“We don’t usually comment on reports because then you’re reacting to every trade rumor, but that isn’t accurate,” Gar Forman, Bulls general manager, told the paper.
Rockets will not offer McGrady buyout
Tracy McGrady met with the Houston Rockets Monday to talk about the possibility of a trade, ESPN’s Marc Stein reports.
McGrady wants out of Houston as soon as possible, but the Rockets will not consider a buyout.
While both sides remain hopeful a trade will happen before Feb. 18, the trade deadline, Stein reports the Rockets will not consider a buyout if no deal can be worked out.
“One source said that the Rockets’ anti-buyout stance is so deeply rooted that they plan to keep him on the payroll even if a deal can’t be struck before the trading deadline,” Stein wrote.
Nowitzki’s shoulder not a concern
Dirk Nowitzki’s shoulder popped while driving to the basket Sunday, but he told the Dallas Morning News he isn’t worried about it.
“We’ve got three or four days off, so it should be fine,” Nowitzki told the Morning News.
